Accomplishments: Due to NYC internal politics, project was abruptly terminated. I restarted it, restaffed it, and trained the management for this plant in three months.

Duties: produced scope of work, brokered agreement and acted as liaison to municipal authority to bring the plant into compliance, started up treatment plant for Black Oxide - Zinc Phosphate system, engineered new process for mercury contaminated burnishing wastes and integrated it into the existing treatment facilities, wrote SOP's for O&M of plant, trained personnel and documented process.
Accomplishments: There is no industry solution for mercury contaminated burnishing wastes. I created one and implemented it with no capital costs.

Duties: added responsibility of bringing failing assembly plant's usage and shutdowns into line, created and chaired plant wide energy committee, examined, proposed, budgeted and managed projects, set energy targets and met with plant management on their implementation.
Accomplishments: designed and implemented energy placarding pilot for program used throughout GM North America, reduced energy usage by 20 percent in less than 6 months, took plant from one of the worst to one of the best plants in terms of shutdowns, a savings of a quarter of a million dollars.

Accomplishments: created GM Lansing Regional Energy Database, found 5 million dollars of over charges and waste in the region using regression analysis and other statistical tools without the benefit of any metering, separated usage/cost centers so that major problems could be easily identified.

Waste Treatment/ Facility Manager

Duties: started up this plant, implemented hazardous treatment process in accordance with governmental regulations, trained union personnel in carrying out process duties, managed various treatment plant upgrades and installations, prepared, maintained and forecast budgets, gathered and reported data on plant performance for management and municipalities.
Accomplishments: earned highest performance rating for Industrial Pretreatment Plants at General Motors, redesigned expensive failed paint-grit system that was used throughout General Motors, designed, wrote and implemented software parts management and retrieval program for treatment plant using Dbase and Paradox databases. Later headed migration of data to Maximo. Solved air quality problem (due to bacterial contamination) before plant went into violation. Reduced plant shifts from three to two shifts. In forty eight hours found, identified and treated hazardous waste and prevented assembly plant shutdown.
Started up GM Saginaw Malleable wastewater treatment plant, served as interim plant manager.

Accomplishments: graduate of first federally sponsored sewage plant operator apprenticeship program in the United States, as an apprentice, improvised a solution for plugged incinerator ash lines and kept incinerator complex operating, the largest in the world.
