My duties as a healthcare worker includes caring for a patients personal and oral hygiene, which includes brushing teeth, bathing, changing, combing hair, shaving, nail care. I take care of the toileting needs of patients. I give them Bed Pans, emptying the catheter bags and bed pans at periodic intervals. If patients need support, it is my duty to help the patient visit the washroom. I assist in tidying up the rooms, changing bed linen, etc. I maintain the medical record of patients such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, weight, level of pain, on a daily basis. I also make notes of treatments rendered to a patient from time to time. I monitor patients by making notes of any changes in their health and informing the nurses-on-duty accordingly or agency. Reporting patient's medical condition has to be submitted in an accurate time. I help assist patients in walking and eating. Help setting up the meal tray as per prescription. Feeding patients with nutritional supplements as prescribed. I make a note of the food and fluid intake. Cleaning wounds and dressing up the same has the Nurses. Repositioning and turning bed-ridden patients regularly to prevent bed sores. I assist the nurses in preparing the patient for surgery. Sterilizing and cleaning the equipment immediately after usage. The cleanliness of nursing stations is also to be maintained. I help patients exercise at regular intervals, as per prescription. I transport patients for medical investigations, surgeries, and therapy sessions to and from their beds. I collect urine, stool and sputum samples for investigation. I store the laundry in the right place. I change non-sterile dressing and give massages to the patients. I assist in the usage of equipment such as ventilators. I maintain cleanliness to prevent the spread of any kind of infection. I give emotional support to patients and their relatives from time to time. I regulate the number of visitors visiting the patient each day. In the homecare I take the elderly's on field trips and/or for group activities.
