At Rady's Childrens Hospital Bernardy Center I provided Respiratoy Care to children varying from toddlers to teenagers with the various forms of Respiratory Care modalities including ventilator management, trach collars/airway clearance management, cpt via percussor or vest, bronchodilator treatments, preparing children on ventilators and trach collars for travel to school;ie; setting up vents and suction equipment to go with them, monitoring the children during recreational activities to provide frequent suctioning. These children varied in mental capacities ranging from high functioning to severely developmentally handicapped or severely brain damaged.

Villa Las Palmas is a skilled nursing facility with an extensive Sub-Acute Unit that provides care to long term ventilated patients and patients with trach collars. Villa Las Palmas has a very high success rate at weaning long term ventilated patients off the vent where other facilities have failed. 
During my work experience there I became very proficient at caring for these types of patients and meeting their ventilator management needs, as well as providing extensive trach care and stoma care.
